Aquatic and Coastal Australia

10th February 2016

“There’s nothing like Australia – especially when it comes to world-class aquatic and coastal beauty,” says Tourism Australia, and I couldn’t agree more.

Research conducted by Tourism Australia shows that aquatic and coastal experiences are some of the greatest drivers of international visitors to Australia. From our beaches and tropical islands, to the Great Barrier Reef, there’s much to love about the waters of Australia. In fact, Australia ranked highest, ahead of Hawaii, New Zealand, Canada and Switzerland when it comes to our world-class beauty and natural environments.

For those visiting Western Australia, here are my top suggestions for your travel itinerary.

1. Scarborough beach at sunset. As a resident of Scarborough, I may be biased but I think it Scarborough Beach, boasts the most beautiful sunsets in the world. From bright red dusk skies to soft amethyst sunset hues, everyday paints a different scene, so if time allows, end every day in WA gazing at our magnificent sunsets from one of our many world-class beaches.

2. ‘Rotto’. Located just 19km off the coast of Fremantle, is Rottnest Island, one of my favourite island getaways where I spend the majority of my summer weekends. Here you can experience picturesque scenery at 20 pristine bays with soft white beaches and turquoise waters, superb snorkelling brimming with life, and a return to the ‘real you’ as you soak up the causal atmosphere and salty warm breezes. Be sure to pop in to Karma Rottnest Lodge to try on my jewellery.

3. Margaret River Region. Spend a weekend or more exploring this extraordinary region famous for it’s world-class surf breaks and world-class food and wines. Enjoy long coastal trail walks, indulge in gourmet dining, and see brave surfers take on mountainous waves. Be sure to pop into Yallingup Galleries to try on the largest collection of Keiko Uno Jewellery, and sample the region’s best wines at Howard Park Wines’ Margaret River Cellar Door.

And for those seeking a memoir of Australia, stay connected with aquatic and coastal Australia with my luxury ocean motif jewellery.
